Have you ever “followed your intuition” and felt like things didn’t turn out how you wanted them to?
Or maybe you had an intuitive, medium, or “psychic” tell you something that never came true or just felt off?
Intuition and the ability to read information beyond what our 5 senses tell us has long fascinated me, and I’ve been on a quest to learn more about how it really works, and to train my own intuitive skills.
This led me to the reason why intuition can at times be “wrong”: because there are multiple “fields” that intuition can be reading.
How to Read Intuition More Accurately
With intuition, we can read information from:
Your thought and “creator” fields, made up of your current thoughts and longer-term belief patterns and systems—you could also think of this as your conscious and subconscious mind.
Your “higher self” field, which is actually just you minus the human conditioning, beliefs, and thoughts you’ve picked up in this lifetime. Higher self knows the truth about your potential, your gifts, and more—minus the trauma and human “stuff” that can easily get in the way (that stuff is in the creator field).
Your soul field with an even higher perspective than higher self, and including things like “soul contracts” (the lessons you are meant to learn in this lifetime, people you are meant to be in relationship with, etc).
Source or “the universe” which knows everything, not just about us personally.
As you can imagine, each of these “fields” holds different information, and might very well have different answers to the same questions.
If you, or an intuitive reading you, isn’t intentional about where information is coming from, you could ask a question like “what type of business should I launch” and get an answer from your thought field that is based on your own fears or expectations put on your by your family.
What you would really want to know in that situation is what is the most aligned choice and path from the perspective of your higher self, and how can you move through the beliefs causing unnecessary suffering or drama.
If you take action or make choices based on reading your thought or creator field, you are more likely to do what you think you “should” do vs. what truly lights you up, and is your soul pull path. This could feel like you made the “wrong” choice, and lead to not trusting your intuition again in future.
This is not to say we never want to consult the creator or thought fields, it’s just a matter of knowing when!
How do I know which “field” to read with my intuition?
This might be one of the most important topics when learning how to receive truly life-changing intuitive guidance that you can trust and base your life’s biggest (or most mundane) decisions on.
Each field has a specific purpose or ability to guide us in unique ways—it’s just a matter of knowing where to direct the appropriate questions.
If you’re looking for guidance on the ultimate direction of your life, and big questions about career, finances, relationships, or a big move, you’ll want to consult higher self for the bigger picture.
On the other hand, tuning in to your thought or creator field will come in clutch to know why you might be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like you can never get ahead.
Higher self-guidance can also help you move through obstacles getting in the way of achieving those bigger goals.
